BCCI President Shashank Manohar said Kochi has got a 30-day notice unlike Rajasthan Royals and Kings XI Punjab because their breach of contract has been totally different.
The six companies that own Kochi are at war over how much free equity should be given to the Gaikwads, who led the consortium when it paid 333 million dollars for the team. Satyajit Gaikwad, the group CEO, says he's working on making peace within the group. The real issue, though, is whether Gaikwad will control the franchise.
Speaking to NDTV, Sunil Gavaskar has said that whether he heads cricket operations at Kochi depends largely on whether the group is able to settle its differences. He also denied that he has any stake in the company.
The Bombay High Court has adjourned the hearing of Rajasthan Royals' petition against BCCI's decision to expel the team from the Indian Premier League till October 29.
